South Texas Youth Soccer Association will initiate the USSF player development initiatives starting the fall of 2016. TCSC academy program will follow the guidelines set by STYSA and USSF for the 2016-17 season. Below is a quick glance at a few changes affecting the Academy division:

Build Outlines - The build outline is a temporary line in the defending 3rd used to promote playing the ball out of the back in an unpressured setting. Once keeper maintains possession, all attackers must retreat to the line and reenter once the defender makes their first touch.
No Punts by the Goalkeeper - Keepers must roll or throw to their teammates allowing play to develop out of the back.
Calendar birth registration - All players will move to the new calendar birth timeline from the current July 31st cutoff line. Players eligible for the upcoming 2016-17 seasonal year:

When determining the age group for the season, the year the season ends should be used for determining the birth year.
